Reading back on some of our old news reports http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/search/1920716.A_new_dawn_/ and http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/search/1921082.Protests_turn_to_joy_at_Town/ it appears that Zenga applied for the managers job after Sturrock left.

Reading his http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Zenga wiki it seems strange he wasn't given serious consideration. He has an extremely varied and interesting CV. Currently managing Catania in Serie A.

Zero experience in England - one atrocious term in the USA with New England Revolution followed by going to whatever club wants you because of your awesome career.
