Unless my hearing has got worse, I have noticed that there is no longer a "tune" played when the players emerge at the start of the game. Is this likely to reappear in the new season? Any suggestions?

They play that God-awful 'Infinity' song when they emerge for kick off... That has to end

Yes they come out to the vocal version of Guru Josh Project's Infinity 2008, The non vocal version is very good but either version does not belong at football.

If they beamed the players onto the pitch with Star Trek style transporters then they wouldn't need 'running out' music. Typical example of where the new board haven't delivered on promised investment.

When did Rockin' Robin change to the McFly version?

I knew there was a reason why I never get in the ground early. It's embarassing...

Complaining about the version of the song when saying it's embarrassing is a bit like saying Harold Shipman was bad because he smelt funny.

Cheesy good point well made. I think I missed a sentence out in the middle. It's not the version that's embarassing, in fact the McFly version may well be better. The whole thing is embarassing.

Unfortunately some random player we'd never seen before would be beamed onto the pitch and would at some point die during the game.

Ah, so it's not my hearing. Just to add to your comment DV, the only time I can understand what is coming out of the tannoy is when I'm in the bogs. I think that is why when the guy does the "good afternoon to the DR stand" he gets little or no reaction.

Good point, well made!  Actually, where I sit it seems not too bad when the guy is speaking from the press box or wherever his eyrie is situated, as soon as we go to the  pitchside idiot you cannot hear a bloody thing.  No doubt there are areas in the DRS that will disagree.
