There is a good chance that we played against each other, I played for South Newton for a few years before i packed up.

Very good chance!   Did you play for them when they were good?

You dominated that league for years.
I did score a stunner there on opening day of the season but we lost 4-2.
Stockton won it last year after last winning it in the early 70s!....looks like they might do it again this season.
I played, coached, managed and was a secretary and treasurer.
Won the Morrison,Chalke,Heseltine,Charity A and B....Lost in the final of the Kimber and Cook (twice). Had a few shit seasons and a few hammerings as well!
Happy days.....i have been to around 60 grounds following the town and i reckon if i hadnt played i would of done the lot by now.
However....playing beats watching any day.
Live in Calne now so packed it all in....but i still email the scores and scorers to the Warminster Journal etc etc.

Petes son Mark runs the Plough at Chiseldon just off the M4.

Charlie only just gave up....although he fell out with the club and played for Langford.

My brother played as well.......Curly black hair...Ashy.

I played on the County Ground pitch ten years ago in the Swindon and District under 14s cup final for Ferndale Rodbourne.  We lost 2-1 to Stratton.  I thought my performance on the left wing would have had the scouts scribbling notes frantically, but the phone has still not rung...

Maybe the phone is off the hook, you know ... not seated properly. You should check.

Whats the bet that Gazzas Fat Mate makes a claim everytime he gets fouled. Probably bribes the ref also.
