One of my old girlfriends used to live in Northampton...and I have to admit I quite liked the place.  It was a long time ago now, but I remember Abington being a decent part of town with some lovely Victorian architecture and a nice park.

It's also quite a large town (maybe slightly larger than Swindon).  And given the size of the place, the only reason I could think of that the football team wasn't better supported was the presence of the rugby club just up the road.

Three points tonight please.

Population of Northampton is quite a bit bigger maybe 25-30,000 relative to Swindon, therefore their crowds should be quite a bit bigger.  I wouldn't know if this was the case. As I don't take too much notice of The Cobblers.

Shame about Vincent not making the starting line-up, but a consistent line up is good news again.

Anyone remember Northampton when they shared with the cricket ground ?
The visitors seating was on a lorry trailer with seats in it and I recall down one side of the pitch there was wooden seating + the visitors terrace was below ground level !
Can't remember the score the year I went, as I went with the late lamented (and avid town fan) Cozy Powell in his Ferrari - so the match was always going to be an anti-climax

The old County Ground (Northampton) was a shit hole, the pitch used to get battered in bad weather with only having essentially 3 sides and that awful open terrace, I used to hate going there and never saw us win there in 3 attempts in the 80's.

I do not miss that place!

As long as he's fit for Yeovil.

Wouldn't have been Sept 2001 been under Evans? He didn't go that early did he?

Apparently King was back on 20 December 2001 (ready for his traditional first match against Notts County on 21st)

Could have sworn it was King then in his first spell in charge, might be mistaken though Smiley
