I have an interview next week that requires me to undertake a budget monitoring exercise using excel. Has anybody has an experience of an interview that contains this? If so any help would be hugely appreciated.

I haven't done this in an interview but you'll be using a spreadsheet to compare year to date budgeted figures to actuals, get a variance (in monetary terms) and then calculate this as a percentage. You'll probably do the same for full year totals as well.
