27mph through a red
Not always, I've had a SP30 and SP50 (speeding) and it made no difference, but red lights (TS10) might do , but not always. Some insurance companies take it into account but from my experience it often depends on other factors like previous claims and previous points.

Its fine going through red lights under the speed limit. Write them a letter explaining this and they will let you off.

Or say you had been drinking heavily in the morning and were asleep, they are bound to reconsider.

Say that your car was completely still and the red lights moved past you at 27mph

I was thinking just more relativity but it could be, although I think you get red shift when things are moving away from you.
You could claim the lights appeared blue.
I was talking about the doppler effect with a mate whilst outside having a fag the other day. Although I couldn't remember what it was called. Cheers Reg.

Redshift, is indeed, the Doppler effect when dealing with light. http://users.camk.edu.pl/jkliment/Doppler_effect.jpg

Yep.
Was a conversation about how we knew the stars were moving away from us. Classic topic in the age of going outside for a cigarette.

Thanks to Reg and Ben (and the doppler effect I suppose) I've just found out the name for what me and my mate at work were chatting about the other week "Time Dilation", in terms of the possibility of time travel. Have to say sometimes this forum is superb!!! Cheers chaps!
