What a pile of shit. The one band i totally hated at school and still hate now. Really over-rated much like the Sex Pistols. Punk is garbage and so is pop punk.

Punk is garbage and so is pop punk.
Anyone who likes music would never dismiss a whole genre as garbage....except Jazz, that shit is bollocks. There's good and bad in everything. I've heard your band*..Sweet Jesus! Someone turn on the extractor fan, I'm choking here! I like punk. I'm not sure what pop punk is, but I'm sure it's lovely. *I've never heard Iffy's Onion Bhaji's band. I'm sure they could be the next Babylon Zoo.

Ace. Certainly the best of the pop punk bands around. TRavis Barker is one of the best drummers ever. Fact. I just wish they would play some proper punk music!

I think I may even possess one of their albums. I like the song Dammit but pop punk isn't my bag, baby.
Saying that I've shamefully stuck with what I considered a couple of decent punk bands who sold out (well I bought a couple more of their albums which I hate). The Offspring and Alkaline Trio being the ones that spring to mind. Sure there is more, actually The Damned tried to do the New Wave/Post Punk thing which I didn't like. Their new album is ok, they've gone a bit halfway house with it though.
Does anyone remember Sum 41? They were ace.

Sum41 were ok for about 5 minutes in 2001.
On the pop punk front I like New Found Glory and old Offspring stuff. Or going back before that, bands you'd also possibly class as pop punk like Ramones, Buzzcocks and The Jam.

That was a jest. I was going to go with Wheetus, but thought that was a little too obvious Personally, I think the older stuff from The Offspring was too political to be classed as pop punk early on. In fact before Smash they weren't a commercial success. Anyway, I digress from my original point - I tend to like bands when they are more edgy and rough around the edges, compared to when they refine their sound. At least with punk anyway.

I've always been an Offspring fan, but much prefer their earlier albums. Nerds with dreadlocks trying to play punk, it's just fucking awesome.
I also think Travis Barker is hugely over-rated as a drummer. Yeah, he's good, but one of the best around? Not even close.
