Rick Davies of Supertramp ex of this parish aged 81. Cover sleeve of the album Breakfast In America pictures the group reading major newspapers and he has a copy of The Evening Advertiser.

Now that is sad, I was aware he used to come back and visit family in Swindon at least once a year and the whole reason why I got the Breakfast in America LP was to see the Evening Advertiser on the back of it. Rick Davies was a true musical genius and people I spoke to always used to mention him coming from Swindon and how brilliant that was for us as a town to produce such an artist

That upsets me, Supertramp were/are a proper supergroup and Rick always loved his ties to Swindon. Apparently Rick was a very down to earth bloke too RIP.

Apparently according to Wiki, at one time he played in the same band as Gilbert O'Sullivan...never knew that...(obviously was aware of the Swindon/Gilbert O'Sullivan connection)

He was the man that got me into boxing, absolutely loved him.
Had his demons unfortunately, but always came across like a proper sound bloke.
RIP.

Watched Ricky as a teenager in the early hours against Floyd and Pac Man, and his greatest moment v Kosta Tszyu.
Heart of a lion and a brilliant boxer.
RIP.

Holy fuck! I was never into boxing but Hatton was one I always enjoyed watching. And more importantly he always came across as a really genuine & nice guy.

Me too. He lost to Mayweather, but stole the entire event. Loved him as a fighter and as a man.
