Gulp!

Was Treadwell the one that Clare Balding said about being able to get his teeth done, after winning the National? Also rode Mon Mome, which one of my Uncles took a punt on after dreaming about a horse winning a race with the name "Monkey".

Sleep well Liam.

One for Reg. surprised no one has mentioned it. A great innings had indeed but that's just not cricket - Sir Everton Weekes, 95.

Cracking batsman. Sleep well.

Sir Everton was just before my time as a cricket fan, but am aware of his place in history, shame he couldn't reach his ton.

It was watching the Test series of 1963 v Windies that as much as anything hooked me on Test cricket.... Windies were captained by the last playing W Sir Frank Worrell..... what names on both sides. I wanted to bowl like Lance Gibbs, but couldn't manage the spring, so had to settle for Fred Titmus, which was more of a skip and could manage that.
