Thanks guys.. both expected, not that it makes it nicer.

The other thing is, we're both in healthcare and it almost makes you numb to death, and then you beat yourself up.. if that makes sense.

Feels bro. It's one of the few inevitable and guaranteed paths in life but one many of us (understandably) cannot bear to accept. My own way of dealing with death is a thought of "one goes out, one comes in." Often we'll hear of news that another loved one or friend is soon to give birth, or a new pet in a household. It's not replacement but it is the thought that with them going, we can find solace in the new.

Remember them and remember them well. I still remember my Grandad's mischievous chuckle and my Nanny's knowing look of kind authority. I miss them, you will miss yours. That is a given but they will live one in some way for as long as we may need.

Sorry to hear about your losses Darlo.

I think bamboo's words here are spot on.

I was watching something on TV the other day and the characters were in an old Ford Fiesta which triggered memories of my gran and grandad's old blue B reg fiesta that they used to drive us to the fish and chip shop and back to their home in Moredon when we were much younger and went around to visit.

It certainly brought a big smile to my face and i'm sure future memories will do the same to you.
