The ex BBC presenter Mark O'Donnell after a short fight with cancer, a man I am so glad to have called my friend for so long.

I missed my chance to say goodbye to him only 2 weeks ago.

RIP my old friend you will be missed by me and almost every Swindon fan who has ever listened to you in the old days on match days.

That's a sad one, the originator of half time ska time (and hip hop half times the season after). One to bring out in the matchday thread today in tribute.

Blimey that's a shock - thought he did the best radio coverage at the time.  RIP

Oh no. That is sad.

Today's half time ska will be dedictated to Mark.

Oh I'm very sad to hear that John, loved his contributions to Saturday afternoons.

Gone too soon.

I'm sure he has an account on here.

He was a Tefer, albeit an inactive one.

That's a real shame. I always really enjoyed listening when he was hosting.

Oh no! Sad Mark showed how good local radio could be, when it was done right, with soul, wit and a genuine love for the community it serves. Gutted to hear this

Mark made the Brunel FM matchdays when BBC Wiltshire lost the matchday rights a lot of fun. It didn't seem to matter what the result was and he got how fans felt.

He was also a massive Palace fan and worshipped The Don as much as any Swindon fan.

I think the Mess Around should be reserved for if/when we go up.

It would be cool if the club acknowledged this in one way or another. I'm sure some of their minions must be on the TEF...

Fuck man. Used to have a pint with mark back in the day when he'd finished his radio show. He was good at coming into the old prince of whales before it shut down.

Absolutley gutted to be honest. Would see him about and we'd say hello. Didn't realise he was ill.

Remember a great time when were having a pised up bbq at fred eliots house. Think it was Fred, me, maybe samdy and sipie?. Nearly got Marie to read out "Cunt Flaps" live on air. "Sounds a bit like cat flaps" Then I think Mark almost doubled down.

I'm really gutted.
