Tommy Lawrence.  Liverpool and Tranmere keeper of the 60's-70s.  Part of Bill Shankly's Liverpool.  Not sure Liverpool had won much before those days.  RIP

Legendary Ipswich Town striker Ted Phillips has died, scored loads of goals back in the day. This caught my eye in his obit:


< The club (Ipswich) offered him a contract, but he initially refused to sign as he was earning more money as a gardener in Tunstall. The club later offered to pay travelling expenses and a total wage of 8 a week, after which he signed for the club.>
