Gabriel Garcia Marquez died last week and no one predicted death more magically than him in the opening lines of his novels:

"Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice."

"On the day they were going to kill him, Santiago Nasar got up at five-thirty in the morning to wait for the boat the bishop was coming on. He'd dreamed he was going through a grove of timber trees where a gentle drizzle was falling, and for an instant he was happy in his dream"

RIP to Colombia's greatest export - above even Shakira and Carlos Valderrama

Ex Scotland international defender and captain Sandy Jardine died yesterday aged 65.

I remember him play against England back in the 70's an uncompromising full back for Rangers and Hearts.

Ayrton Senna died 20 years ago today.

I remember vividly watching in shock and awe that weekend as Ratzenburger and Senna both died. I loved F1 back then.

Thinking about it 1994 was also the year Kurt Cobain died, some year for tragic deaths.

The title of this thread annoys me every time it pops up. Why did a 5 year old thread become the place to post about famous people who've died?
