Ex Crawley manager Dermot Drummy. Swear he was linked with our job not too long ago?
Thats awful, he was only a few years older than me, terrible for his family he was only 56 and as you state he was linked...although not strongly, to our managers job.

How about Ian Watkins  Hmmm a bit closer to home.

Charles Bronson was available, but he's just got married  Smiley

Funnily enough I met Ian Watkins twice before his arrest. I was working in a prison he was in briefly but didn't meet him after his trial.

He was in prison before his arrest? Do you not mean before his conviction?

No, I meant before his arrest - he wasn't in prison at the time. After that I didn't meet him. I realise I phrased it confusingly!

From the iconic "Something of Tennessee [Williams] inside of us":

Like a star which extinguishes in the night
A time when others are madly in love
Without a burst of voice and without a sound
Without a single love, without a single friend
Thus disappeared Tennessee

Roger Kirkpatrick - former referee from the 60's and 70's. OK, so he died in May 2013 so not exactly breaking news but I didn't know and thought it deserving of a mention any way even if it was covered at the time.

The only reason I do mention it, is that the Swindon 8 Bury 0 youtube clip (thanks for posting Bedford) links into QPR v Swindon from September '69 and he was the referee. With his pork chop side burns he really was one of the iconic refs of the time(I suppose the other main ones being Clive Thomas and Jack Taylor - I'm sure Reg and some of the slightly older chaps will remember some others).

Anyone who loves a bit of nostalgia, just do a Google image search for 'Roger Kirkpatrick Football Referee'...there is some utterly fantastic (and random) stuff on there.
