"A host of Blue Square Premier managers are thought to be interested, including Mark Cooper (Kettering), Liam Daish (Ebbsfleet), Mark Yates (Kidderminster), Jim Harvey (Forest Green) and Billy McEwan (Mansfield).

Former Cheltenham boss Steve Cotterill is understood to be interested, as well as others from below Oxford’s level, such as Dover boss Andy Hessenthaler and Elliott, who is assistant at Unibond Premier side Hednesford Town. "

It won't be Cooper as he has a release fee which we can't afford. Forest Green and Mansfield are below us in the table so its unlikely to be their two. I doubt it would be Elliott as a manager as he doesn't have any experience at this level and we want instant results not experimentation or transition. I'd love to see Matty as assistant. Hessenthaler would be my shout. So when I said "there are a few good candidates about for us" that was optimistic bullshit. I'm still hoping for a good appointment though, there seems to be lots of choice.

Where's that from? Cotterill has repeatedly ruled himself out of League One Jobs let alone non League ones.

You could always end up with my college tutor, who manages Abingdon Utd.

Its unlikely. You mentioned it before too. Ian Atkins is on shorter odds than him, and there's 0 chance of us re-appointing Atkins.

Not with Victor Chandler is it? The only time you can really really rule a candidate as definitely out is when VC price him down to 3-1 fav then refuse to take any more money on him

Seems as though we want Cotterill or John Ward. Probably SC.

Cotterill surely won't drop down? I'd guess either John Hollins, John Ward or the ghost of Saddam Hussein will take over.

As the article says, the man at the top of our list is wanted by other clubs (you?) so may take a post higher up the leagues. We probably won't get the number one target but here's hoping.

come to think of it, if its cotterill the article is talking about (it sounds as though it almost certainly is), then he must have applied for the job, so is interested.

The John Hollins article in the NLP on Sunday was interesting... Weymouth's chairman is clearly a knob.

Nobody has defended the Weymouth chairman.

They also think that FGR's Jim Harvey is top of your list.

Cheers for the link rich. I wouldn't mind any of the top four or so candidates being appointed, their credentials sound good.
