That's bad news. She says she's seen no plans but haven't they had open discussions about it?! Its sometimes difficult to work out what is going on here......save to say that STFC and SBC are probably two of the most inefficiently run organisations in town......so it would hardly be a surpris eif this turns into a third fiasco,

As the Councillor leading on this, she has never once asked me to be involved.
The only ward Councillor for that area who has been pro-active is Cllr Michael Dickinson.

what annoys me is there is always oppostion to us. the council goes on and on about the need for a new staduim but does nothing to help this happen! then we get at least one person effectivly telling us to fuck off! maybe the council will realise what they have done when the club moves to different town!

To be fair, over recent years there has been a huge chance in the Councillors (people retire, move away, or have been thrown out of office), and there is much goodwill towards the club.
There was cross-party support for example for the Council to help explore the County Ground redevelopment, which is currently happening.
It is fair to say there are also some Councillors who are not supportive of the club, but alas that is the case across the whole of the town.

im really not optimistic about developments. ive heard nothing from the club or council on the plans. what will the new stad look like? how long will it take to build? what will be next to the staduim? all ive heard from the club is 3-4 weeks until we submit the deatils to the council (they said that 3 months ago) so where are the plans?

Basically in a nut shell, the delay is down to the club and the developer looking at the best way to 'share' the deal.
It responsible for the club to take their time, and this is an excellent opportunity for them.

i do agree with taking time because thats exactly what the club didnt do last time. but it would just be nice to know what they are planning.

Well Bob Holt set out pretty much the broad idea in the local media not so long ago.
In a nutshell, rebuild Arkells and Town End. Tweak Nationwide (pretty decent stand already), and upgrade Stratton End, with a low level roof.
Potential to fill the corners.
Facilities put into the stands, ie in the new Arkells stands sporting shops etc.
Also exploring the potential for hotel and conference facilities, probably within the new Town End.

Until actual plans are submitted we don't know for sure, but it certainly an option the club might consider to give them more space on the current site.

In relation to the Stratton End... They can have a roof, but it will could only remain a small stand otherwise there will be potential planning issues in relation to the houses behind the stand.
