It'll be all the players first appearance of the season at Southend.

Have midfield, as a unit, been all that bad?

IMO Herthab its more the way theyve been told to play...Easton attacks more away,Nalis has been hugely dissapointing,Mcmanee and JP are very inconsistent and for me the jury is still out on Timlin although there is some class about him,its alright doing a containing job away...but we need more than that at home...ime not saying Pook would change things but the way things are going you could at least expect a run out in the JPC at least?

Yes and No.

I still find it a bit odd that Peacock and Easton did alright as the middle two last season but havent been played together, in order to make room for Nalis.

Bit like the defence in the way that we've probably played about 5 different midfield combinations of JPM, Easton, Peacock, Timlin, Nalis & McNamee.

I will go on the record and would also put everything I own on Pook making absolutely no difference to our form.

I'm in no way a member of the anti-Pook brigade but I simply don't think he'd add fuck all.

Sorry Rich...cant agree, not because Pook is special, but hes had a kick up the ass..Sturrock is no mug and played him regularly...our midfield to put it bluntly is piss poor and IMO with the way they have played he should get a look in...if your saying Malpass is right in his opinion about Pook thats up to you but i feel how can he judge Pook if hes never tried him in a competetive match...adding fuck all is all our other midfielders have done all season.

2-2, with Aljofree and Timlin scoring.

Mo Mo needs to decide who his best central midfield pairing are and leave them together. I would go with Easton and Timlin as the pairing most likely to be effective.
