Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
Saw them at the Oasis supporting Talking Heads. Great night. How about Neat, Neat, Neat or New Rose by the Damned. Like A Hurricane or just abuot anything off Rust Never Sleeps- Neil Young. in fact most of what he did in the 70s. Rock lobster - B52s or did that sneak into the 80s. Who's Next is a great shout - Quadrophenia? |

How can we have a discussion on the best 70's music without a mention of the best band ever to hit planet earth. ?
Besides the Floyd, who have yet to be supassed (IMHO), I also really liked Propaganda by that weird pair Sparks.
I would have loved to have seen Hawkwind, & T Rex back then, managed to see the Who at Glastonbury recently which bought back memories, & I am told I did see one of Queens first Gigs pre "A night at the Opera", but can't remeber that one. (Must have been good)
