Managers have failed at clubs yet been a success at others. What you're saying Bart, is that no one is given a chance unless they're successful. Good luck with that, if past boards had agreed we'd never have had most of our successful managers...........

Phil Brown was given the boot by Derby County after 6 months.... Hull gave him a chance... Not that, that has anything to with anything really... |

Genuine question.
Cotterill stitched Stoke City up to take an assistant job at Sunderland. Sacked from Burnley. Martin Ling and Colin Calderwood are great names to this club but both are struggling in football management at the moment... why will they automatically do better here? |

Once from Burnley as manager (allegedly mutual consent), and once from Sunderland as Wilkinson's number two. He hasn't had as many jobs as you might think.

Calderwood would be my choice too. He's never failed to get a team into the top 6 i don't think? 2 promotions and 3 play-offs. Granted he did have money at Forest and Northampton though. |

For us the fans, he'd be an amazing appointment for nostalgia alone. However, I cannot help but think that to the players he'll be just another dour Scottish manager - Pook (and he was 7 when CC left) aside there are no Swindon fans in the first team who would appreciate the same excitement as we'd feel. |
