Any manager with a proven track record who does well with us is likely to have other clubs come in for them.

So should we look for proven managers and plan as if they are only going to be here for a season and go for short term appointments.

any unproven manager who does well with us will get the same. success breeds opportunities.

Exactly, Roberto Di Matteo didn't join Franchise thinking that this is a nice club to settle and stay... it's a stepping stone club... outside the Championship, we all are.

Right, i think we have all now realised Malpas has to go, lost the dressing room a long time ago and we are now seeing the results of a team not playing for the manager. Regarding Malpas i cant think of any positives, his signings have been poor, wont count Cox Timlin etc cos they were here under Sturrock, Bart is right about attracting players though, we signed Marshall who was desperate to play league football so didnt need much persuading, Yinka who was desperate to return to england so again not much persuading needed, Nalis joined after Sturrock persuaded him to and the fact he openly said he hadnt recieved any other offers, yet the players who came better clubs he couldnt persuade to join, Mulgrew, Richie Jones, Betsy, Murray!

Exactly, none of those are doing spectacular... SPL or L1 - Scotland everytime.

I'm very intrigued to see how this week pans out. I was saying to a friend only yesterday that I feared that we hadn't dabbled in the loan market (for a defender because it doesn't take a rocket science to realise that we needed to freshen things up back there) because Fitton didn't have confidence in MM anymore... I was mostly thinking out loud, but we shall see.

Of course the wages on offer could have played a factor which at a guess would be nothing to do with Malpas more so the chairman?

The full backs are a disaster.

Need moving on/replacing ASAP.

How much longer is left on Malpas' contract anyway?

I'd say the central defenders, central midfielders and wingers need replacing before the full backs...

He was, so say, given a three year contract in January 2008, but that doesn't make sense as it would expire in January 2011, so I am guessing that his deal runs until June 2010.

What McNamee, Easton, Timlin and Nalis? I could get them playing.

You got to let go. Jack Smith, good pro as he his, is not a league 1 player.
