I think it will be somewhere near, because he has only just bought a house here, and he doesnt want to disrupt his family, so it looks as if Reading would be the obvious club if they want him

Cardiff are supposedly interested. What would Townfolk think of a straight swap for Thorney? At least we wouldn't have to subsidise the Chelsea paupers.

If the Saints go down, I reckon they'll go for Mr Parkin.

A mate of mine knows SSP's sister (or works with her?) and he said that he's going to Sunderland (Parkin that is, not my mate).

My mate can be a wind up merchant but he seemed pretty sure about it.

I can't see it myself as it's up North and although he's a good player i'm not sure he's quite Premiership standard.

Just wanted to share what I heard and state the old 'heard it here first' thing.  Wink

To be fair, Sunderland have been the team linked with him most over the years.

See that Sheff Utd are having a striker clear out.  Tommy Johnson and Ashley Ward both gone.

Possibly making way for a summer swoop on Sam?

Don't really think for one minute either are viable but Ashley Ward would be a nice signing for a season, probably got one left in him.

Johnson will struggle given his record over the past couple of seasons but is looking for a player/coach role so would be willing to take a pay cut.  Shite record and an injury list as long as your arm.

Because they know Parkin is itching to play at a higher standard. My bet is that SSP might take a gamble and go up north in order to further his career
