disagree, he did alright. he was playing alongside shola ameobi so was just a touch isolated.

did absolutely fuck that chance just before HT at 1-0 though.
should be starting for England.

He's just ringing up Ben Joyce now, who know's some lad from up Plymouth that used to play for Southampton and he had a mate who was at Arsenal so might know.

Michael Owen is one of those players like Alan Shearer. Doesnt matter how well he is playing or how off the pace he is...he will score goals.

There is no logic behind it, he just does. His scoring record for England is top and he always pops up with a goal when England need one.

Also, Unless i've missed an injury wheres Gabby Agbonlahor....

If Alan Shearer was still playing he still would walk into the England side!!

Owen has 89 caps and 40 goals. 4th top scorer of all time and has never gone more than 4 England games without a goal. He's been playing for England for over 10 years and is still only 28.

Being at Newcastle hardly makes his career over. The aforementioned Alan Shearer spent his best years at Newcastle, not because he was finished.

Considering the other line of England strikers are Heskey, Defoe, Crouch & Darren Bent I think Michael Owens England career is far from over because he is about fifty times better than the previously mentioned strikers.

Probably true on the Newcastle point but that has no reflection on Owen.

He's a natural born goal scorer and will continue to score goals untill he retires, which hopefully wont be for another 5 years at a minimum.

Please name me a better English striker out there than Michael Owen?
