The guy who was doing our car for the wedding has decided to tell us two days before that he can't anymore because he can't find a part for it. Grrr.

He's offered us use of one of his other cars, but it's a R-Reg Merc and tbh the car we've got for the bridesmaids is better than that.

If anyone knows of someone who'd be able to help, please let me know. Cheers.

Old fashioned car Sam?  My old man's mate runs a firm but think he charges around £250 for it.

Mate I'll get you his number, and PM it to you.  My mrs is sending me someone else's number too.

Sam, there is a place in Calne (or at least there used to be) - Atwells Motor Museum I think its called - who rent out cars for weddings. We had one provided for us as a gift - Old Roller - but they have many others. Don't know the number, or even if its still operating, but worth chasing down.

Do you have wedding insurance? You may be able to claim and they may have a company locally that can supply a substitute car?

Atwells is still running but can be a little pricey.  Sammo I've sent you one lot of details and will send another fella's contact details in a bit!

Nope, we don't. The original car was being provided FOC so I can't complain too much, but it would've been nice for him to give us a bit more notice.

Hope you get something sorted - are you after an old classic or something new?

That really isn't funny.  Anyone who is married knows how stressful the organisation can be.  Really sorry to hear about your predicament.

Can't help with suggestions for vintage car firms, Sam, but I would like to wish you and your fiancée all the best for Saturday.  Despite the last minute hitch, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful day.

My sister hired an old car from Corsham Classics, could find the number for you if you're interested?
