Southend United chairman Ron Martin has confirmed that he remains hopeful of signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Charlie Mulgrew.The full-back impressed during a three-month loan spell at Roots Hall last season and the Essex club are keen to sign him on a permanent basis.
Swindon also hold an interest in acquiring his services, but Martin told Southend's official website: "Charlie is a player we would like to retain.
"He improved during his time with us but at the moment Steve Tilson does not agree with Wolves' valuation of him.
"However, we don't think agreeing personal terms with Charlie would be a problem and it's certainly something we will pursue."
