I watched "The Lives of Others" earlier. Good film, really enjoyed it.

Before you all rush out to rent it on my say-so, it is in German so you will be reading sub-titles, but don't let that put you off.

true, tis good. I find after 20 minutes I don't realise the subtitles and sort of subconsciously read them.

I'm pretty much the same. I saw The Counterfeiters recently - that was a pretty good film.

I'm also the same with subtitles. Even if I'm drunk. Although if I am drunk it will still often put me off watching a subtitled film.

I'm sure I've seen that but really can't remember it. I just watched In the valley of Elah, kinda portrays the impact of iraq on american squaddies. Not a bad film, and TL Jones is a fairly reliable actor, as is Charlize Theron, but couldn't help feel something was missing from it.

Catch me if you can is a blinder IMO. Christopher Walken has a habit of turning up in good films. True story as well.

finally watched kite runner after reading the book about two months ago,

quality book and the film matched it, left a few bits out here and there but generally well impressed.

you should watch it soon.
