Here's a list of Kubrick films, ranked, unsurprisingly 2001 comes out on top....

https://www.theguardian.com/film/2019/apr/04/stanley-kubrick-best-films-ranked

There's a Kubrick exhibition just started in London, lots of sets and props. Looks quite interesting. Can't say i'm a massive fan, he's been influential for sure, but i don't think any of his would make my top 100, The Shining might just squeak in.

Went to the cinema for the first time in ages last night, to the fairly new one in the Battersea Power Station complex - only 40 large reclining seats, never been so comfortable!

Anyway, Rocketman was really good. Whether you love or hate him, you can’t say Elton John hasn’t written some great songs down the years.

What an eyesore that is now. Was one of the best views in london now surrounded by shitty glass flats, that will look 50 years old in 5 years.

Rocketman was really good as it wasn't a straight forward biography like Bohemian Rhapsody, Yesterday is really good as a feel good film.
Toy story 4 is good but not the best one.

Went to see Toy Story 4 with the kids. It was brilliant, best one yet IMO.

Keanu Reeves as Duke Caboom, if you're a child from the 70s/80s is so funny and true

Toy Story 4 is good but far from the best one. Too sentimental and not funny enough.

Secret Life of Pets is hilarious.

Couple of films watched over the weekend.

Shaft (The new new one) on Netflix was brilliant, proper laugh out loud film. Well worth the watch.

Baby Driver was interesting, wasn't too keen on the musical/dancing aspect of the film but all in all worth watching.

Watched I Am Mother due to my affinity for anything post-apocalyptic and Portal. It was kind of interesting, but think ultimately I felt let down because it wasn't Portal.

Watched Creed II last night, t'was ok in a Rocky film sort of way, although the story is basically just Rocky IV repeated, substituting the snowbound basic training with the desert!

Watched Black Panther last night. Not sure what to think. It was all a but meh, and didn't really fit in as a "Marvel" film.

I saw that, thought it was utter tripe. I dont really get this marvel franchise thing, they are all pretty much the same plot, with the same ending the ones I've seen.

Agreed.  Very powerful.

I know India is a big country but still seems bizarre that Special Forces took so long to get there.  So many more lives might have been saved.

Joker - I didn't think the way they crowbarred it into the Batman narrative worked very well. As a story of mental illness and a man pushed over the edge it was superb, and brilliantly acted.
