Quite enjoyed Absolutely Anything with Simon Pegg the other day, slated by critics but I enjoyed it, some good laughs, even if they were a bit crude.

Watched a couple of films on Netflix this weekend, Green Room (fucking intense) and Sing Street (goddamn charming).

Saw Sing Street the other day too, also thought it was good.

Also saw all these recently and would rate them:

The Edge of Seventeen
Before The Flood
Racing Extinction
Anomalisa
Happy People - A Year In The Taiga
Sicario
Widl Tales

Watched the girl with all the gifts last night, decent enough film, but unlikely to be remembered or recommended.

Watched "Hidden Figures" at the weekend. Based on the true story about 3 black women working for NASA during the space race and at the time of segregation.

Brilliant film and quite an eye opener. 3 amazing ladies.

I hope with all the shenanigans at the Oscars mix up the producers of La La Land aren't going to make another song and dance about it.

La la land.......boring
Moonlight.....ain't seen it
Hidden Figures....very interesting
Hacksaw Ridge...for me the best film this year.
Passengers.....pretty damn good after not expecting much.
That Harry potter spin-off.....what a pile of shite.
Marvel films....so unbelievable.Not x-men.
War dogs....great night in.
But the best film ever....The Warriors....seen it 30 times at least.

Yea, seconded on Patriots Day, tub thumpingly US-tastic as expected but a sobering watch, rarely heard a cinema so quiet at the end of a film.

Indeed, the interviews/obituaries at the end were hard to watch

Watched Resident Evil: The Final Chapter over the weekend. Really good compared to some of the more recent RE films.

Plus Mila Jovovich is fit.

Watched Elle at the weekend. French, so subtitled, but really fucked up and good.

Re-watched Almost Famous, which I will always like. Directed by Cameron Crowe and is a semi-autobiographical tale of his early life. He actually did tour with huge bands like Led Zep, The Eagles, and Lynyrd Skynyrd and get a Rolling Stone cover as a teenager.

Fish Tank is a good and gritty British film. Fassbender is in it, couple of years old but well worth a go.

I've got a few ready to watch next: Argo, Paterson, Snowden. Also I may watch the BFG 3D today but will get into a deeper meditative state for that.
