Even by Wes Anderson's standard, Grand Budapest Hotel is insanely twee.

Twee's a good word for it. Thinks that being complacent and odd is a substitute for being funny, or clever, or compelling. The quirky trailer made the wife think it would be good for the kids, who were allowed in for some reason, to watch the weirdly misplaced effing, blinding and blood-spilling. Reminded me of the worst of Terry Gilliam, like Baron Munchhausen.

I absolutely hated this film's guts.

Not watched it and probably won't.  The last film I watched that I thought was total pretentious bollocks was 'Being John Malkovich'. Or maybe I'm just too fucking thick to get it.

Being John Malcovich is class you moronic bald cunt.

Watched the new planet of the apes film on Saturday. It was OK, very watchable without being brilliant.

Watched it at The Screening Rooms in Cheltenham - big seats, waiter service, no Chav riff raff. Certainly not worth the extra on a regular basis, with doing for a treat though.

Neanderthal.

I'm too stupid to know what that means. Is it an insult? Next time I see you I'm going to attempt to get my knuckles off the floor and give you a slap.

The trailer to the new Mad Max movie looks good. Lots of explosions and fit birds, can't wait.

Have just spotted that Apocalypto is on again tonight (BBC2 2315).  Have seen it several times but may well tune in again.
