I went to see Son of Saul yesterday.

Extremely powerful Hungarian film set in the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp. I know these films have been done to death but it still staggers me what went on.

I'm getting kinda fed up with superhero films. They're just milking the franchises a bit too much now.

I watched Chef last night, another Favreau film. Quite enjoyed it, good soundtrack too.

Watched the Brand New Testament last night.

I really enjoyed it. A very creative film if nothing else.

the independence day  sequel. utter gash. can't expand on that without spoilers..

the original was far from perfect, but entertaining. this was a massive letdown, lazy, overblown on special effects and characters. poorly written.

I went to see the BFG tonight. It was wonderful, really lovely throughout. I could see harder hearted types finding it all a bit too shiny and glib but it made me grin like a big kid the whole way through

Haven't looked in this thread for a while, it is absolutely brilliant.

Again, haven't been current in this thread for some time, has Turbo Kid been mentioned?  Great fun.
