Recent films I've watched have been birdman and boyhood.

Birdman was pretty poor despite waiting and waiting for it to do something. When I thought it was finally going to become worth watching it just went back to the weird pap it had been.  Got good reviews so maybe it's just me.

Boyhood was ok as you see the changes in people over time but apart from that it is instantly forgettable.

I watched Birdman tonight and I thought exactly the same as you Arriba.

Other films I have seen recently which I can recommend:

Whiplash - was a really engrossing film, had it not been recommended to me (cheers Hertha) I wouldn't have considered it as the synopsis alone would have put me off.

John Wick - Stupid plot, leave your brain at the door type film but was an enjoyable action flick with some great fight scenes.

The Interview - Expected it to be crap but thought it was genuinely funny. More focus on James Franco's character than Seth Rogan's which made for a better film in my opinion.

I can also vouch for Predestination being a half decent film. If you're into Time Travel type films and want something a bit different have a watch of Spanish film Timecrimes which was interesting and clever.

Interstellar wasn't bad if you discount the length of the film and the massively flawed ending (a lot of sci-fi films can be like this mind). I quite liked the sound effects (e.g. broken/muffled sounds or very little sound) and I can't work out if the comedy robots were brilliantly shit or just shit.

If you value your time then don't waste it on Foxcatcher which is one of the slowest, least intense and most boring films I've seen in a very long time.

Watched the Imitation Game yesterday, very good. Really enjoyed it.

Also watched Any Given Sunday yesterday, not a new one, but a decent film nonetheless.

I saw that the other week and thought it was fantastic. Steve Carell was incredible, I had no idea he had that sort of performance in him.

American Sniper and The Immitation Game were also excellent but Boyhood was very average only made interesting by the original concept I thought.

Frank Lebouf makes a cameo in that film apparently.

Amazing, I still haven't seen it yet..

Anyone use Flixanity? A lot of decent films on there, some still in the cinemas.
