Not making 6000 fans might silence those who seem to think we're a big club which is failing if we're not in at least the championship.

I was talking to someone over the weekend who (genuinely) works at the CG.
He gave me the impression the club has accepted it will get "no-where near" the 6000 target, despite what is said officially. Apparently, a large number of existing ST holders have failed to renew. When telephoned and politely asked "why not?" the single biggest reason given is "because of the manager".
This is an honest post and the conversation was real, so make of it what you will. Personally, I was very disappointed, as I believe its the team we support, regardless of who is manager, and I hope MM proves them all wrong.

Yes, he must sit in the TE. There isn't any financial incentives to buy a season ticket in the Town End this year.
The theory being that it's cheap enough already (true) and that people go in the Town End for atmosphere over price. I guess we'll see if that holds come August.

Well, if that's true, what a bunch of complete and utter wankers (ST holders not club). Hopefully this was a BS excuse when put on the spot, and they will renew when deadline approaches. If people really think like this then even I am beginning to think "what's the point" to AF trying to give us a cheaper, better deal. Maybe it's me, but I go despite us being good, crap or indifferent. IF MM flops I expect him to be on his bike. If he succeeds then brilliant. I want to be there to find out.

The ironic thing is, they will be the first to sing his name if he does get it right on the pitch and hopefully paying full price for the pleasure of it. I really can not understand this attitude of when King goes, when Iffy goes, when the board goes(well that one I can understand), when MM goes, when AF spends 5 million on a player where does it end. The only sad thing is AF will probably cut back his ambitions for the club as this was an acid test to see if fan base was there or not.
