I think if City get promoted they will do worse than Derby, although I suspect Stoke will run them close, neither have the big pot's of money that is needed to survive or have had the resources to stregthen to such an degree.

Going on last night City looked quite handy going forward but was a bit panicky when it came to defending....I think Hull are stronger

Lewis Carey and Bradley Orr would hardly inspire me with confidence up against the likes of United, Chelsea et al!

Painful to say this..but two really good goals by city. Don't see them scoring many against Hull let alone in the premiership..

Team's who went up in 2006/2007:

1 Sunderland           46 15 4 4 38 18 12 3 8 38 29 29 88
2 Birmingham City    46 15 5 3 37 18 11 3 9 30 24 25 86
3 Derby County (P)  46 13 6 4 33 19 12 3 8 29 27 16 84

Team's who went up/in play-offs in 2007/2008:

1 West Brom       46 12  8 3 51 27 11 4 8  37 28 33 81
2 Stoke               46 12  7 4 36 27  9  9 5  33 28 14 79
3 Hull                   46 13 7 3 43 19  8  5 10 22 28 18 75
4 Bristol City        46 13 7 3 33 20  7  7 9  21 33  1   74

City's form this season is about the same as Derby's before they went up, Derby actually even had a better goal difference. If City go up they'll be humiliated.

I don’t know how people can say that for one they are not promoted yet and secondly even if they do we don’t have a clue what type of player they will buy

Its not about how much they have though its about who they can attract and that is why I think City will definitely struggle next year if they get into the premiership, most domestic players let alone recognised foreign players would more than likely turn down the opportunity to join City even if in the premiership.

Yeah that’s fair enough but stoke, westbrom fulham(reported only 8m to spend) wigan will have the same issues

The difference is that Derby had no intention of staying up this year and rolled over and if Jewell wanted to he could of signed players in January but decided better.

If they go up I have a feeling we may be surprised unfortunatly

Despite my earlier City-bashing, I have to admit that is my main fear. If they were to go up, get a few decent players in and survive the drop for a season I'm not sure I could bring myself to watch Match of the Day any more!

If they get past the mighty Hull (or Watford, you never know!) then there's always a chance they could do what we, Leicester and others did and financially ruin themselves though! Always look on the bright side!

Disagree as I feel all of the above Stoke aside could offer higher salary and teams like Fulham have the advantage of being established in the premiership for last few years and have a manager with a good reputation home and abroad, same could be said of Wigan both established and good manager.  West Brom are a yo yo team who go up and down but any player would feel more confident they have the resources and the squad already to mount a serious bid for survival next season.  I have no worries at all if City go up they will come straight back down.
