I just don’t think he’s taken the step up a league very well, unfortunately.
I agree but it's the finishing of simple chances that I find harder to understand. I can get tougher opposition having to create space etc but when you have time and space with no end product as he has often this year it becomes frustrating doesn't it

Dom Thompson got more assists on Saturday than Stevens and J Smith combined which speaks volumes!
assists for the 2nd and 3rd goals is stretching it. Yes he passed to the player that scored but  Twine's goal was a solo effort  and DJ's was a cross

Ultimately a stat is a stat, he made more of a contribution in that match than J Smith and Steven's all season. If needs must and we were short on numbers I reckon Thompson could play in a wide attacking role as he can actually cross a ball!
I've said it before but J Smith just reminds me of Brophy, in League 1 Brophy was out of his depth as just running fast doesn't cut it, in League 2 Brophy is a regular starter for Orient.

I’ve always liked Jonny Smith - genuine talent that just needs a goal to get him going. Be a bad decision to send him back.

This for me too. Hes quick and has got good feet and knows where the goal is, just not so much for us so far, won't take much to kick start the season.

A stat is indeed a stat. And a very poor substitute for measuring someone's contribution across a season.

100%. Nurture him. Surround him with the right support and someone to supply in the middle. He’ll
come into his own and will be a Championship player one day, I am sure.

we could have solved our goalkeeping crisis by bringing back Cameron Belford.  His stats are awesome. 100% record of saving penalties

On a similar theme, Exeter fans seem to think Broadbent is available for transfer.

It'll go down as 3 assists. My point is that Thompson made more of an overall contribution on Saturday than J Smith and Stevens have all season, an injury prone out of form loan player is of little benefit to us. He's not really been any better than Stevens and to be honest if it wasn't for the fact his dad post on here I think peoples opinions would be similar to that of Stevens. If we need another loan player he's the obvious sacrifice.

Jayden Shockley is available on loan to L1 from PNE now they’ve signed Ched Evans.

Maybe he’d like to move back down his way.

They’re also looking to offload Bodin - isn’t he injured though?

We could have kane up front but if the delivery doesn't get past the first defender it wouldn't matter who's there. If he stays he'll need to up his game from what he's produced so far as we'll need it to escape.

Can we afford to nurture a loanee.
