The lad has issues, the club doesn’t want him and we can’t replace him right now.
Just another chapter in a poor season so far and it could still get a lot worse.

What a complete contrast to this time last year.
Depressing seeing this club going backwards again.

Well, we’ve got no money to sign anyone new so it’s a no brainer.

How’s Palmer getting on at Wigan?

Wigan look to be picking up since Sheridan left.

Edit: 8 appearances for Palmer in total for Wigan, last played against Lincoln 2 weeks ago so missed the last two wins.

Nixon saying we want Twine back

We want? Not questioning you but Nixon's wording. Surely it is purely a matter that he is a Town player and in January they can review his progress (like several clubs usually do; think Yates last season with Rother Valley AFC) to take a look at him?

As mentioned by myself before and Aud today, Town have a month to see if he is up for the challenge in L1. If not, allow him to continue his progress at Old Welsh Quay. Progress that appears to be going well.

The way things are going at present, don't be surprised if Newport put a bid in and Town accept straight away. Haven't heard Sheridan mention him in relation to any player shortages. Without sounding a cunt, I'm sure if he was asked by Mr Hawes "so, what about Scott Twine?" he'd likely say "Who?!"

I lose track of how the loan windows work and the amount you are allowed of short term and long term loans

However, it’s not like in January he can just take annual leave from Newport and come back to us and moonlight and then go back if he isn’t up to it.

Maybe Newport would straight away spend that part of their budget on someone else permanent or loan rather than waiting for us to decide?

Maybe us recalling him & then letting him go back effects Newport’s short term loan quota.

If he comes back and plays for us then he can’t play for another club (I think that’s still the rules) so if Newport aren’t interested in playing will he / won’t he games - then we are stuck with him and his full wages (assuming Newport are paying some percentage now)

Twine wouldn't be taking annual leave from Newport. Town would just be recalling him as a review of his progress. He is a Town player (currently) after all. He wouldn't be "moonlighting". The situation is pretty much exactly the same as Yates last season, except this time we are the loaning club.

Maybe, but I would imagine Flynn has been pretty impressed with him. The lad really can't do much more than he has. It's been a positive spell to date.

I believe the rule is he can't play for more than two teams. A bit like how Yates (as already mentioned) went back and Paul Warne brought him on as a sub. All it meant was that Yates could only play the remainder of the season for Rotherham or Town. The same would apply here for Twine. Obviously none of us are privy to who wants what or whatever but it wouldn't be a huge stretch to think that Newport would like him to be there for the rest of the season. Town might also like the prospect of utilising their own player so Town are in the driving seat here in this instance, I would be pretty certain of that.

Power's last interview was shortly after the exit of Wellens and before the appointment of Sheridan.

I am worried that Twine may be sold for a pittance as part of a fire sale in January.

Also Adver produced this on the 7th, so must have been around that time

https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/18854501.lee-power-surprised-timing-former-town-manager-richie-wellens-departure/

Another question though...Is that Michael Carroll on the right hand side of the main article image?!

He's from Norfolk isn't he? Considering he is broke (in lotto terms) that would be laughable if he is somehow involved with Town. Another "secret" or "private investor"  Soapy Tit Wank
