Even the most wildly optimistic amongst us know we are not going to piss this league, indeed there are going to be games where we are backed up against the wall or have a perfect storm of things going wrong and or against us. Having players as Venks just mentioned in the squad, in the dressing room and on the pitch is going to be essential.

Absolutely.  Most teams who are successful have many captains, regardless of who wears the armband.  Shit teams tend to have no-one who can do that.  This applies too any team sport, btw.

Must say I am pleased Wellens rubbished the Nelson rumours. He really isn’t what we need.

Trololol...

That's just peak Wellens trolling us. He'll sign tomorrow - obviously Wink

Strange how some wanted to be quick to disprove when it was quite clearly taking the piss. But I forget, you can't say "I was fucking about" as that implies awkward backtracking....or quite possibly it's just the cheap shot used by those that clearly don't get it. Oddly, on here?! Where nearly everyone is sarcastic as fuck. Baffling.

It's quite funny that a clear bullshit rumour on the TEF prompted someone on here or a lurker to get that question eventually posed to RW. Fucking hell. Talk about taking the bait.

Serious bit now though, as it raises a slight fault in RW (he is human after all). Nelson (or anyone aside), it does expose a slight weakness in RW that he gets jaded quite easily and then won't revisit a player. Seen it a few times now. Hopefully he knows that just because a club rebuffs you on a player, they can be revisited and still become a positive move. He shouldn't let every rebuff cloud him. A kind of reverse point in case, if Caddis allowed a similar process to override him, he would never have returned to Town. He's just claimed another L2 title by allowing his head to rule. Sometimes "looking back" can be the right move.

*Awaits a very small portion to be extracted and taken out of context, in order to suit the prerogative of the responder*

Sorry Quaggy, I've quoted you but the points raised aren't necessarily aimed directly at you. However, I know you just love to read my detailed waffles, so here we are. Enjoy Soapy Tit Wank Cheesy

What players would you like him to ‘revisit’?

I can’t think of one he’s let go that he hasn’t replaced with better.

He won't revisit Nelson because he's a L2 clogger. We've just got rid of one of them.

yeah, unless there's other issues it wouldn't make sense to replace Broadbent with Nelson

Joel Grant isn't a replacement for Broadbent...

Well Jonny Goddard's shot his bolt and Jimmy Gilligan's a little long in the tooth now. I wouldn't take John Gregory over Wellens, so that seems to cover all the options.

Unless you know better...

Jennifer Grey? she'll have the time of her life. No good at corners, though nobody puts her in the corner.
