Lots of players with a lot of clubs chasing the same ones.

What’s the real problem with Isgrove and Woolery? They aren’t going to get more in wages now the cap is in place. Where do they think they will go that’s better than where they are?

It's about options. Players have rights to explore and negotiate. Either way it's a gamble for the player because their current employers could replace them and then all the other options could dry up or fall through.

I lean towards Wellens enforcing a deadline soon but I think the club are in control. I'm sure he's been in this position as a player and a ruthless contract withdrawal to please a % of fans serves to benefit nobody. Doing so could piss off contracted players, fans who want them to stay, agents with other players RW might want etc etc etc

George Williams, who we had on trial, looks like he’s about to sign for Grimsby.
A player released by a league 2 club signing for another league 2 club, didn't get some peoples excitement over him and looks like Wellens saw him as a league 2 player as well.

Not withstanding that Wellens got players in to not only play in L2 but we’re capable of playing in L1. His ambition I suspect would be to get players now who can play in L1 and the championship, if that’s possible under our budget.

You don't need to suspect it, he said as much in one of the Talk of the Town interviews earlier in the summer, that our targets would be mainly players with experience of high end League 1 or the Championship.

Maybe reading too much into this, but our friend Boo has tweeted a completely wrong stat about Jon Obika, showing he played for Morton - in fact, he’s playing for St Mirren.

Mmmmm. A new ginger Pele on the way?

Having scored 5 in 9 for the Cobblers - Morton is very much in demand by most of L1 and several championship clubs, hes probably THE hot property at this level due to his relative success recently and would indeed be a good loan signing, but we would face a lot of competition if he is indeed a target.

Its fine saying "we are interested" in taking these players on loan, whether indeed they are valid targets is another thing.

I expect it was a genuine mistake by the boo bloke.

I don’t think so. He used the Wiki profile for Obika that just happened to have been edited yesterday tochange St Mirren to Greenock Morton.

Often linked to Swindon - striker Kane Hemmings freed by Dundee yesterday. 1 goal every 2.5 games through his career.
Won't be this chap.

He signed for his home town club Burton on a 2 year deal yesterday.

It still does say that he plays for Greenock Morton.

And that he scored 8,000 goals in 31 games.

How else would you go about posting a cryptic tweet about Callum Morton?

And, tbh, who’s interested in Obika round here these days?

Callum Morton (20yrs)
Seems like an ideal loanee (from WBA)
Could Power/Wellens make this happen
Would he usually get first team placement at STFC?
