Interesting that Brentford may want DJ. They have been the best club in the transfer market in the last 5 years. Norwich shouldn't have released him.

He’ll be signed as a B team player and then loaned out if it happens i suspect

They are looking good for the prem too, wouldnt want to face them in the playoffs. Got a great team there

Saw their highlights v Derby, on a roll now. I agree he’d be a bench sander if they go up though surely there are better options and if The Bees want to stay up they’ll have to dig very deep into the back of the sofa to get players to ensure that they do and DJ IMHO is nowhere good enough for the premier league or even a B team player for a premier league team. Championship maybe, Premier League?, Nah can’t see it myself. Though as Saint & Greavsie used to say....

Good luck to him. I suspect that he will do well.

At 22 and with first team football on his CV, it'd be a tough decision to sign for someone now knowing his impact will be neglible.

Money talks, that’s the problem. His agent if the opportunity arose would sell him slagthorpe United in the back of beyond up north if the £’s were flashing bright enough.

DJ should do well, clearly has potential but in these uncertain times the pond has suddenly morphed into an ocean in terms of money, player expectations and opportunities.

DJ clearly has bags of potential and a massive amount of skill.

He needs nurturing to bring out the best, Wellens certainly brought him along but wether our coaching set up is up to a good enough standard to bring him on more with more specialised coaching I don't know.

He, like Woolery, needs a lot of work on his final ball in terms of cross or shot, he has bags of pace, brilliant close control and a probably 10-15% good end product. If he can get that end product to more like 50% then he will be good Championship level player even close to Premier League.

He needs to not take the ball past too many players when he gets it, he loves beating players but when he has run 40 yards and beaten 4 defenders then he needs to look up and see if there are better options, which there almost always is and a simple pass will turn him from a decent player into a great player.

I wouldnt stop him taking risks at times but most of the time if he looked up and didn't try just that 1 more trick then he wouldn't lose the ball putting us from attack into a defending position.

Brentford would probably be a great move for him, good wages, better standard of coaching and play for a good footballing side but probably be loaned out to a L1 club next season, hopefully us, to continue his progess.

I don't know, people saying Jaiyesimi he wouldn't be ready for Premier League. Possibly not but sometimes you can just see that a player would do alright.

Let's not forget we all seemed to share similar opinion that Steven Alzate was pretty good but not quite there yet. More Steven Alright than Alzate. He spent a part season with us, unfortunately got injured (there is some mirroring with DJ in many ways here). He's now featured in a good chunk of Brighton's matches this season and I'd say he's doing pretty "Alzate" in a team that should stay up. Personal success for him. DJ could easily do the same at somewhere like Brentford. He could easily flop, like many talents.

Proof that PB could spot a good midfielder (he loves signing them). As can Wellens (likely a little better dare I say) too.

Also, Nixon says a lot of things so he's likely to get one of them right. 20 teams in the Premier League, I can say all of them will win the league pre season and one of them will.

It’s fair comment, however, if he has that potential why would his parent club let him go?

50% end product is world elite surely? For the first time ever I'm.struggling to get involved in transfers and rumours. usually one of my favourite times of the season.

a season start date, a conclusion to all leagues, confirmation of salary cap and a power interview regarding the season ahead and il be right on it. for now- it's all bullshit even more than ever- cant see how any team in league 1 or 2 can prepare with all that needs to be confirmed

End product is just the ball ending up where he thinks it will end up, 50% in terms of finding a Town player with any final ball not 50% finding the net or setting up a goalscoring chance.

If he could actually pass to a Town player and 50% hit its target he will be doing well.

I would think that Grant has a pass rate of probably 80%+ when his pass finds its target.

DJ would be stupid not to sign for Brentford if they're interested.

You really think he's gonna sit there and go, "But I can learn at Swindon!". He won't. He's talented and could easily break into Brentfords first team within months. He'll get paid more. He's closer to home. You can try and reason whatever way you want but hell even I'd sign for Brentford over Swindon!

Consistency is probably 60-70% of what makes a top level player. Used to watch a fair bit of non-league at The Mighty Heed and then Lancaster City, you would see players in most games that were technically on a par with Premier League players but they could do it probably 1 time in say 20 passes/dribbles, its being able to do it 18 times in 20 that makes you a top player.
