Doyle apparently getting a three year deal at Bolton! Hard to turn down that kind of security even if the club isn't/wasnt stable (I've not really followed since their point deduction).

3 years at his age. Easy to see why he went for it.

I wish him the best.

Well if that's true then a) would be mad for him to turn down and b) great that Bolton have learned the lesson of their financial difficulties

One Bolton fans says he suits the way Evatt plays. How the fuck would they know? I doubt they watched Barrow last season

....will he get paid properly and on time at Bolton.

Sure, on paper the deal is great but fuck me, that’s a gamble surely?

3yrs at L2 level is brilliant for a player in their mid twenties so for Doyle that would be a no brainer, as I certainly don't think Town would offer a 3yr deal. As I said earlier, if terms offered here remained similar then staying here would've been best. Town would probably offer 1yr with an option to extend but no chance of a 2yr with 1yr option, which I'm sure that's what Bolton have offered and not just 3yrs outright. Otherwise that's silly, I'm pretty sure there is no way that Doyle would be the Doyle we had for another three years solid.

Only have to look at Richards and Taylor to see how difficult it is once your legs start to go and those tweaky hammys keep on tweaking. Not that Doyle will care too much but seems an overly desperate move by Bolton. I don't think they will go up and it'll be a soured end to a decent lower league career for Mr. Doyle but he's already two thirds of the way out of the game.

If he is to sign for Bolton, I predict: Released by mutual consent after one half decent season, followed by one nothing season. Either that or he just won't even feature in his final year due to a mysterious ongoing "injury".

Still, thanks for doing a very good job Eoin. That is if you are (likely) on your way Pint

That’s a lot of pressure put on a rookie manager to get Doyle to deliver.

Relieved we didn’t get near winning this one.

Where has the rumour about Doyle signing a 3 year £4k per week deal with Bolton come from?

I normally stand in the shower in the morning organising my work day in my head. It was only when I unconsciously stood there thinking of GP moving on this morning that I realised how gutted I am that he’s likely to be off. Thanks for getting the job done Eoin. Shame you may not be here for the next, even more exciting part, but no sour grapes. We can all understand the move from a personal (if not a football) perspective.

How many goals did Doyle score after his return from Bradford?

In his last 10 starts (4 for Bradford and 6 for Swindon), he failed to find the net in nine of those games.
