Great player on his day, when hes fit, not sure we need another winger if it came down to it though.

Unless DJ is going back to Norwich after his lack of game time, Jarvis is essentially a left winger but has hardly played in nearly 3 years, was on loan last year at Walsall but suffered more injuries and only played 9 games in 5 months. He has an England cap and was a near £11m transfer a few years back so he has quality so its just the injury record, was apparently still on £30k pw last year! was released in the Summer from Norwich. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/7617921/matt-jarvis-injury-nightmare-norwich-england/amp/

Has one of the Power Geneva Ltd horses, won AGAIN? I'm thinking though, Wellens has been very good at getting pretty much the most out these very talented but so called "crocks". I like what I think might be his thinking... "A fully fit Matt Jarvis that can play only 8 full, 16 half, or 24 thirds of games is still a very good value player." He's only training with us but if we signed on a PAYP til' season end, at this level it could well turn out to be a masterstroke. Who knows, because we're top maybe this time round we have had enquiries about Keshi or Kayne?

poor chaps injury record over the last 5 years is shocking.
But if he's on a pay as you play he may be a good experiences asset to have around

Where? Twitter? Suppose he could just be working on his fitness. Is he based in Guildford?

Five Live. Talked about training on Christmas Day and being a good time to join squad as top of the league.

Interesting. Does sound as if there might be some sort of deal in the air then.

Yep, if I was only "training" with a club just to get fit or with no intention of signing then I wouldn't be training on Christmas day. This has legs, let's hope Jarvis still has his. I trust Wellens on this though (see previous, signings).

Funny you say that Horlock because I was thinking earlier (not all will agree unfortunately) wouldn't it be great if Town were to lead a modern example and support a publicly gay professional footballer. I think we have certainly passed the point where silly jibes and sniggers, as well as bigoted remarks won't really be tolerated. It also seems (it is just a hitch on my part) that we are building quite an engaging, accepting, inclusive and pretty liberal club environment. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if one of our Town players is gay. The following article (albeit from 2017 and the Telegraph) gives hope that there can be a day when this can be the norm and players can be judged by their ability alone and not by their private life/sexuality. We're getting closer to that day but there is still a long way to go. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/12/18/openly-gay-footballer-liam-davis-have-not-had-one-problem-football/

I agree JJ but is that not true of every position? We don't need another striker (loan situation notwithstanding) although cover would be handy...we don't need another midfielder/central defender/full back etc.... ...but if a player is identified who is of sufficient quality, he's fit and we can afford him, let's get him in. Some people thought we didn't need Caddis but he's not exactly made us any worse has he?...The same was said of Anthony Grant even... It's a very nice position to be in...

Oh indeed, but looking at FFP wage restrictions then positions will have to be prioritised, if funds are available for an extra body in each position then its a no brainer really. It is a nice position to be in.
