Could be right, there. Never thought of that.
Its the only thing I can think of, the last thing we would want is to pay them any more money for any longer period than we already are.

It seems odd if bonuses or extensions would be due on fewer than 20 apps over two seasons. Maybe he isn't unable or unwilling to put himself in contention, and it's just that Wellens has decided he doesn't fit in his plans and has written off the cash.
But if his career isn't over, you'd think that we'd be trying to get him out on loan to put him in the shop-window. There never seems to have been a sniff of that happening.

There was a club who were looking at making an offer for Toums in July but nothing happened according to Wellens.
Wellens has just said they are not part of his plans this season.
Wellens was praising Toums attitude and training levels a month or so ago on the radio so its not because hes being unprofessional I just think clubs are willing to take the risk on a player of his age staying fit for the season, or hes on such a good wage they can't get close to matching it.

I was quite surprised he didn’t play against Westbury the other week in all honesty.

It means he would have been cup tied for Chippenham when he signs for them in January

You don't play somebody you're trying to offload on that pitch in a game where there's no scouts watching.

Diagouraga is just past it, there’s nothing more nefarious than that to it I think. We gave him (presumably a rather large) contract, he snapped it up. He was clearly in Browns plans but wasn’t able to get up to speed (due to being passed it), and Wellens didn’t sign him so doesn’t feel inclined to wedge him in
Just one of those things. I don’t blame him for running his contract down - it doesn’t sound like he’s causing any drama behind the scenes, and for him I’d be surprised if he got offered anything elsewhere - can’t imagine a lot of teams even in the division below banging the doors down for an over the hill centre midfielder who hasn’t played for two years
Just chalk it up to another bad pre-Wellens signing, as almost all of them were between Flitcroft and Brown

On reflection most managers get a few right and a few wrong.... the better managers get more right than wrong. These days we have to include loans but at least a bad loan can be offloaded. Brown signed 8 players.... Doughty (+) Nelson (+) Alzate (+) Woolfenden (+) McGlashan (-) Toumani (-) Bayo (-) Smith (-) About average, and probably why he produced a very average side.

That and the fact he left gaping holes in the squad for certain positions.

Saikou Janneh of Bristol City. Looks like Rich couldn't be arsed to post in here My Torquay fan mate says hes been shocking this season and picked up a nasty injury which he has recently came back from. Last season he was brilliant this season much less so with 1 good game in about every 3 or 4. He does say a lot of league clubs are watching Jamie Reid their top scorer and he says hes a far better striker.
