How the Yates situation was being reported 'up north' a couple of days ago.  Seems a reasonable position for them to take.

Rotherham are doing well in a league above us so not really clear whether Yates would get back in the side anyway.

I'm still waiting for Jason Roberts to sign.

I think that part of his career is over, he now seems to mainly troll the politics thread.

It always amuses me when anyone suggests Diagouraga and McGlashan will move on. The only way they will go is if we pay up their contracts. For Diagouraga, this is undoubtedly his last payday so he has no interest in any negotiation, and McGlashan would only agree if it allows him to take up a contract offer from Wrexham, which seems highly unlikely.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more anger on here against Diagouraga for milking us for a sizeable wad over the last two years when he's never been close to an acceptable level.

May is set to leave. Depending on the terms he's on, Zakuani might be kept on as backup, but I imagine we'd only bin Sanokho if he isn't developing - he was taken on cheaply as a prospect, rather than an immediate first-team option.

I have not seen him play but I had kind of got the impression from posts on here that part of the problem is that he is not fit, which would be his fault?

If he suffered a career-ending injury since joining us I don't remember it. And unless his career's over, why isn't he fighting for his place?

I wonder if he's ill in some way.

It took AGES for him to get fit under Brown, only for him to get injured when he was getting into the swing of things. Now it seems that he'll never be fit again.

He did suffer a fairly bad injury last season, the reason he isn't fighting for his place is that Wellens has told him he will not feature in the league again for Swindon, I think its partly due to bonus payments etc.

Wellens doesn't rate him so he is not wanted and his wages are obviously a stumbling block to any other team in the bottom division hence why he hasn't moved.

I am sure that if a team came in for him then he would happily leave, I don't think hes being stubborn over leaving just that no team is interested in him so why would he walk away from his contract? that would be foolish IMO.

Dave played in that dead rubber match against BRovers last month. No way will he leave in Jan as he can’t be anywhere near match fit.

I really don’t understand the ‘not in my plans’ stance from Wellens on these players. Surely any players contracted to the club should be available if needed.

I agree, which makes me think salary bonuses are due based up league appearances, and automatic contract extensions if they play a certain number of games.

Indeed. And unless it's purely the club holding him back to save on bonuses, then it's hard to see how anyone will give him much more than a pay-as-you-play contract again. I have sympathy if it's just a case of his body having broken down, but you'd think the club might have mentioned that if it was the case. He was able to play a Boycott Cup match last month.
