The only time I saw him play in the flesh was at LB at Carlisle and he was beyond shite, whilst not helped by Bennett going AWOL in the first half he only improved very moderately after the formation switch.
Its a shame that you saw possibly the worst performances played by both Bennett and Knoyle in one game! both have played much better. LB was not the right position for Knoyle.

I wonder if Wellens told Knoyle he was going to be playing him at LB more often, a position he obviously doesn't enjoy playing in , which may have influenced his leaving.

Very highly rated by Yeovil, they turned down big money for him a year or so ago.

A Cambridge fan has said they have a reduced budget from last season and also have financial difficulties.

I’ll stick to my theory that Wellens wasn’t that fussed about him staying and, tbf, although he said he was a good one on one defender he didn’t provide any assists when he got in good positions - an accusation that could be levied at most of them.

Think Wellens tried to squeeze the budget a bit on Knoyle, in order to spend  further forward... it's an understandable strategy, rather like the LB who can do RB. Ideally you'd want to be able to have quality in all depts, but most Div 4 teams are in the same boat.

That's more like it, someone with a fair few league games under his belt . Played right back though didn't he? But is descrbed as 'versatile'..

RE:r PV's point though, I remain a bit sceptical. Still, got to be in it to win it.

Didn't Wellens say he had pulled the contract offer from KK as he took too long, so I assume on that we wont be due any fee as he was effectively released ?

No, we changed the offer. Not even we're stupid enough to forego compo by releasing him.

Tom James very nearly went to WBA in January, then went off the boil the second half of the season. On paper, somewhat of a coup.

I’ve heard Chris Stokes from Bury, born in Frome and grew up in Trowbridge.

Interesting, that would sort left back - still under 'contract' there though. Assuming the contracts aren't invalid now.

Pretty sure all Bury contracts are now invalid as they've not been paid since March.

Not 100% sure on this, possibly the players could be but the manager Ryan Lowe's moving to Plymouth earlier was subject of a £150k fee.

We know at least one of their players' contracts was deemed null and void.

Ex Supermarine & FGR player, could do worse.

There will be many vultures flying around Gigg Lane in the coming weeks, I wouldn't be shocked to see them go into Admin and fold.

Yes we do, the player was free to leave but the manager not. Quite unusual.

Nobody at Bury bothered telling Nicky Adams his contract was effectively null and void until a week after the season had finished either. What a sham of a club.
