In this market he's a £2m player if he keeps his form up. 2 year deal, score 20 from mf to get us up, sell for £2m, job done. Powerball.

You are right, Panda Paws. I agree completely but...

Swindon Town? (Under any regime) £2,000,000?

Pahahahaha.

We'd expertly agree to £450,000 and consider that the sale of the century.

Call me Susan, but isn’t the transfer window closed except for loans? Are we likely to loan out Doughty?

Saying that, Brown has said someone may have to go if we want someone in. And we are overloaded in midfield.

Yes Susan it is closed except for loans which have to be completed before 31st August.

I can't see PB getting rid of our best midfielder so soon after signing him.

Hull fans not enthralled by the rumour.

It looks like that top ten budget is true, a centre half from Fleetwood and midfielder from Swindon.

Preparing for our advance to league one. The ****s.

It would be easy money for LP but I am not certain he would let go of our prized asset so soon.

The only reason it would make sense to Power is $$$. The window is closed, though, so it'd have to be a loan.

They could make an agreement for a loan now and a permanent deal later, but how binding would that be? What if Doughty gets injured and Hull, or whoever, no longer want him? (Or they just change their minds). They could settle on a 'fee' for the 'loan', but that would also raise further questions. Such as, what would stop Power from changing his mind and keeping the player once the loan deal has finished?

Maybe they could sign a deal now for him to sign permanently when the window opens and loan him in the meantime? Surely that'd be a gaping loophole the FA/FL would have noticed and plugged already?

Depends if it's a loan with a 'view to make permanent' or a loan with a 'pre-contract agreement'.

The latter was in place when Adam Rooney signed and it caused Town all sorts of problems when trying to duck out of it.

Mostly due to his contract being negotiated by the previous owners at £5k per week.
