I'd feel more comfortable if the bulk were in by the start of pre season. Brown said he was close to getting his ducks in a row 3/4 weeks ago. He must have a farm full of the fuckers by now.

Indeed, always a bit worrying when "we are close" drags out. But I guess we have a month to pre-season.

Yeah the excuse though when players are shit is "oh they didn't have a full pre-season"

And it can't be more than 2 weeks away, probably less, they've been off 5 weeks already.

Indeed, it has been extremely frustrating and detrimental to our season to get people in late. Though I'm sure the "not had full pre-season" has been BS in the past -that players have done pre-season with their previous club.

And it can't be more than 2 weeks away, probably less, they've been off 5 weeks already.

Fair point, I guess the friendlies start in a month so you are right.

I'd hope Brown had target identified 5 weeks ago, and is tweakingthe list  while players bugger off to Cheltenham/Mansfield.

I'd like to think its all in hand and we will see movement in the next two weeks. Totally against Power's previous MO though.

What I fear/think is likely is we'll see three or so perms come in before/during preseason, then five loans sometime before September. It may be 'the way of things these days', but it ain't ideal.

I'm sure there is lots of work going on behind the scenes.

Does it all have to be public knowledge?

That's what annoys me. People moan we haven't signed anyone, but how do you know we haven't tried. I doubt it's all plain sailing.

Who said it had to be public knowledge?

Who moaned really? I said I'd feel more comfortable.

Who said we aren't trying?

You just need to look elsewhere on social media to see what sort of fans we have. Any chance to moan and they jump at the chance.

There aren’t many signings in general yet, the odd one here or there.

When do players contracts expire generally? End of June? Will see deals announced all over the place when then

A slashed budget was always going to see a slow summer....to Flitters' credit last summer he managed to assemble a functional Div 4 outfit despite time restraints. I'm fairly confidently Brown will put together a side capable of ensuring our FL status for another season.

Bigger batttles await, what with the Tories' recent success meaning the fight for the future of the CG and indeed the club is what should be at the forefront of our minds this season.

Ignoring, of course, that the budget hasn't been "slashed" at all. The budget is the same as it was at the start of last season, which was confirmed by someone recently I think?
