No idea on Banks - seems well thought of at Tranmere and in good form, but Oldham fans don't rate him. A bit of a "meh" signing but we need cover/competition for Dunne and Linganzi.

Why do people keep mentioning him as a defensive midfielder? Everything I've found of him on the internet says he's an attacking midfielder, including this https://www.chesterfield-fc.co.uk/news/2014/august/ollie-banks-it-was-worth-a-go/

Trying to find stuff about Banks led me to one of the local papers up here, whilst that story had been deleted this one on the page did make me laugh...

I see him as a central midfielder. If we're playing 343 then would imagine him in the middle. But, like I said, I don't know much about him, so likely I'm wrong.

There's an interview with him on wanky iFollow, but it's only available to those with an account. That might reveal what flavour midfielder he is, maybe somebody with an account can take a look?

A man of few words - only thing about his play was that he "likes to get on the ball and make things happen, chip in with a few goals"...

Oldham didn’t sell because they are probably wanting to cash in on banks

Where does everybody think we need strengthening? I would say a GK to push RCC - allowing Henry to go out on loan (assuming Vigs does go) & two forward players, specifically a target man if we are to persist with long ball as this is simply not Norris' game. May also require CB cover. Was there ever a mention of any involvement for Conroy at some stage or was the injury definitely a season ender?

I'd suggest another centre half (although not sure if Taylor can play there) and a striker, and maybe a wide player, with the injuries clearing up in the next few weeks hopefully that will give us enough for the rest of the season, the only other area would have to be GK as I'd like to see Henry out on loan with a run of games

I doubt we'll be doing strengthening as such... one out one in being the modus operandi.  So H Smith went, which freed up a loan slot for Banks, which given the injury to Linganzi was timely. If Vigs can be unloaded that will free up a slot, but I don't see many takers.  If Keshi signs that will free up another loan slot, and I'd be looking at another midfielder.

Smith, H. needs replacing, for sure. I’d be happy keeping Henry as back up. Dunn needs replacing. The return of Elsnik will be a great boost.

Can Purkiss play emergency CB? I’d also like a proper RWB. Knoyle is developing OK, but Iandolo needs to be CM.

All in all, we’re doing OK. It’s just dreadful to watch.
