I remember E.J.O (Ted) Hemsley who played long and well for Sheff U and Worcestershire

There were always a few around.... Town had Les Berry in the 30's, who was a keeper. Still holds Leicestershires record for most centuries in a season and career...also his 30,000+ is the most runs in a career for the Foxes.

My personal fave was Jim Standen, who won the County Championship in 64 with Worcestershire taking most wickets and the FA Cup with Hammers.

Thinking about this, Worcestershire comes up a bit in this... I wonder if it was to do with their CG, doubling up  Hmmm  not sure how mind

The one I remember from my era (only just) is Jim Cumbes who played for Villa amongst others and (once again) Worcestershire amongst others.

Arnie Sidebottom pere of Ryan, got an England cap at cricket, and played a bit for ManU.

Of present vintage, Keith Barker, who plays cricket for Warwickshire, played a few games for Rochdale, as a youth player, obviously wasn't quite good enough si concentrated on cricket.

Peter Trego played as a keeper for Margate, Weston and Chippenham while playing county cricket in the last 10 years.

Anyway back on track...any Town rumours? deadline day is fast approaching.

Thomas strikes me as someone who's a decent trainer and is good at understanding tactical instructions (based on comments about him in the press and him playing three or four different positions last year). That will always do well with coaching staff.

I always thought his positioning on the pitch was good. His problem is his technique isn't good enough, either with the ball or trying to tackle.
Agree with most of this. We gave him a 3 year contract whilst others got 1 or 2 years. We also snapped him up quite early. Lots of positive comments from coaching staff. Whether this is factual or motivational is another matter.
On the pitch though, a shocker. Same sort of build as Branco but poles apart in how they used it.
Glad to be shot of him and save a waste of 2 years wages. He's young enough to rebuild his career but thankfully away from here.

Best of luck to CT, but won't be losing any sleep over him going. Thought the Flitcroft praise of him preseason was far too good to be true.

Fact is he made Ryan Harley look like a midfield colossus.

On thisis someone has stated that the club are in negotiations with a previous midfielder. Unsure who he is or if the comment of "if the money is right" is wages or a fee involved. Can anyone shed any light on it?
