I don't like this whole Smith is the new Miles Storey etc

There is more to this, we are playing or putting players in our squad who we know are simply not good enough, the table shows that and the shite we have seen shows that. Rodgers and Thomas our sat on our bench coming on for 10 mins and doing fuck all while we have a player like Smith who while not being a superstar or world class cares about this club and will only get better but is pottering around doing fuck all.

This isn't about young players getting development time at all it is about Waterford getting 2 decent players on loan for fuck all. He might not be great as some have said but Smith is better than the irish 2nd division ffs

There's definitely something in this which doesn't sit well. OK, it could be that it's just a case of a different way of doing things.

After all I'm sure Watford fans had misgivings about the Pozzos when they brought in a string of different managers, loan players from Udinese, Granada etc yet somehow ended up in the Prem and so far have stayed there. Obviously their model has worked, incidentally they sold Granada to some Chinese in the summer and now they look set for the drop.

Our problem is not so much the model, but that it's not being done properly. There's no way in the world the Pozzos would have put up with Luke...

It looks like Smith is there until June but isn't he out of contract at the end of the season. If so, can't see him signing a new contract so not sure how it benefits Swindon.

Looks like Jake Evans is out of contract at the end of the season as well. Both are apparently on loan until end June.

They cant be loaned longer if they are out of contract, You would imagine Smith will be offered a new deal not seen enough of Evans to have an opinion, but if they sign new deals I wonder if they will stay until Oct when the irish league ends, or is this too much for a young lad to miss close season ?

The more that I think about this, the more pissed off I get.

This season is a fucking waste.

You should dispatch a strongly worded letter. That'll tell em.

And it looks like he's as fit as some of our mob

He's a legend in Cornwall, scored an average of 55.5 goals a season, many at a very good level. From his postings on the Cornwall Football Forum he sounds like a decent fella too.

I did when we sold Fjortoft (I was at Uni and had a lot of time on my hands) and to be fair to the club they wrote back to me!

Quote from: pauld link=topic=28647.msg1416360#msg1416360 date=1487849400, then that starts to look like we might be on the Brentford path.

I've missed something here. What is the Brentford path?
A fourth division club playing in the championships? I'll settle for that.

From Charlton fans group on twitter:

DISCLOSURE: CEO Katrien Meire said publicly on Saturday that #cafc paid Swindon £600,000 for Nick Ajose - now back there on subsidised loan

I thought it was 800k? Wasnt that the media suggestion?

I was told earlier in the season by a good source that it was 600k and only 400k of that was up front , the same person told me the Norris fee was 25k which seems far more realistic than the media speculation of 150k .

Wasn't it £400k, which would cancel out the Ajose income?

I am sure I heard it was about £100k to £150k up front raising to £400k with promotion/international call ups etc structured deal and sell ons.
