I suppose now we have to question whether we need a striker?

Depends whether Luke sees a future for the 4-5-1, we'd be better served getting in a specialist left back if so, I have no idea if there are any floating around the freebie scene at the moment mind.

Andrea Dossena was on trial at Southend recently but at 35 that's not really feasible for us!

Bobby Zamora was on the London news last night, him and Rio Ferdinand are looking to start up some kind of initiative of developing run down areas and building up community spirit etc including affordable houses.

Perhaps Zamora is signing and managing the ground redevelopment as well!

Ryan Taylor, ex-Wigan and Newcastle may fit the bill but is signing for Port Vale.

I'm surprised Carlton Cole decided to join a USL team. He could have surely found a team in NASL instead.

Britons in USL tend to be graduates of the US collegiate system and expats (including Jordan Rideout, son of Paul, at Oklahoma).

Saying that there are couple of former Football League players in USL. Ex-Burnley, WBA and Southampton midfielder Richard Chaplow plays for Orange County while our very own Luke Rooney is in USL with Arizona United.

I would take him on a short term contract till January at least.

Not a bad scoring record of 1 in 5 throughout his career (67 goals in 340 games) with almost all of it being Championship or Premier league level. A lot of those appearances from the bench.

Would be a good signing at this level if LP and LW decided they wanted to look away from youth and after experience.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the Championship though.

Luke Williams said in an interview we'll know by the weekend. I'm 90% sure it must be Hitchcock.

Pretty sure he won't be signing for Swindon, Zamora that is.
Heard today at the game it was/is Zamora AND Lambert!!!

This from someone who struggled to understand why Williams had changed a winning side...

I can confirm that I have heard categorically that this may well be utter horseshit

Who ever it was they couldn't reach an agreement with him, also he was not up to speed fitness wise - and Williams did state that we already have first team players who are not 100% fit!

Astounds me that any footballer trying to make their way in the professional game is not fit. Match sharpness not there I can understand but basic fitness is a given surely?
