Two permanent, one on loan.

Given the lack of actual rumours, I'm just going to say names.... Adam Hammill released from Huddersfield this morning. Was going to be part of proposed Byrne deal, but is now free to join us anyway.

Good spot.

Any good? Looks like he's played his career above L1 level?

Brentford make bid for Liverpool goalkeeper Laurence Vigoroux. #stfc #brentford #bfc

Cheesy, I love the Brentford fans re-tweeting it not realising.

Excellent. I mean excellent in the fact that he's managed to spell both his first and last name incorrectly.

It's only Byrne gone and we've already got his replacement. Expecting striker on short term loan - and that's about it.

I reckon you might be right, that'll really kick off the "less patient of us" shall we say.

Things fluctuate. I remember going when the crowds were 3000

Oh do fuck off. If you feel that strongly in your thoughts do a separate thread and bore yourself there.

TBH, I reckon our chosen 1st XI is pretty good. To have equally good players warming the bench waiting for an injury/suspension to get a chance aint going to happen at STFC.

Things, personnel wise, can't get much worse than they are now with injuries and we played pretty well against Blades - albeit a bit toothless.

Fuck knows why people are acting the maggot.

Really ?

The lad has been playing part time at a very low level, fitness and getting used to the pace at this level - he wont be ready to make a start for quite a while, cant really be seen as Byrne's replacement

I agree with that, but then how many times did Byrne disappoint us?  Twenty minutes against Bradford where he was magnificent but the rest of the season I believe he has been quite ordinary, although to be fair he is not a defender which at times he is expected to be during a match.  We move on!!

Byrne was dogshit when he first arrived here (in my humble opinion, of course).
He was a very poor full back, but we moved him to the wing and got the best out of him.

Our current set up really has a great knack of getting the best out of the players at our disposal.
I doubt Stewart is anywhere near ready for the first team yet. But remember he's never played professional football, is a young lad and it will take time for him to develop and get used to full time football. I think he'll be a real asset for us, just not straightaway.

I guess the point i'm trying to make (albeit pretty poorly), is if he is to be Byrne's replacement, i'd be very surprised if it's immediately.

Fingers crossed we bring in a suitable replacement for Byrne and at least one striker before 6pm.

Seen a few comments on Twitter about two or three signings being the difference between mid table and relegation. For me it's two or 3 signings being the difference between mid table and a play off push. Just hope we can offload and replace Smith. I still rate our first choice 11 as a good one in League 1, obviously pending a replacement for Byrne.
