This seems to have stemmed from Donohue simply putting a post up on Instagram that said something along the lines of ‘family is everything’
I still remember the meltdown when Fods/Vigs (one of those) said his bags were packed. Turned out he was going to see his parents for a few days - or something like that. |

Yeah and not exactly a very professional jape, considering they knew exactly what they were doing.
Two players already jumped ship so to speak (yes I know one wasn't technically Town's and the other OOC), that it seemed would have signed and re-signed for Town, considering they had just earned promotion as Champions. To then see the star midfielder from that season hanging around with his buddies (no crime) and a good bunch of trolling in Tans words by "Anderson...the prick", he knew he would get a reaction.
Why on earth he did it I have no idea but then pro footballers and cockwomble do tend to correlate quite often. Why Grant (or even the embarrassed Yates) didn't just say "he's mucking about, ignore him" or whatever, again I don't know.
The thing with Grant, he could be off in January...speculation (I believe this is the thread) but remembering when he finally re-signed he said something like 'I was always going to sign, I promised the gaffer...'.
Well "the gaffer" is no longer in situ - we know he worked with Sheridan when he was much younger but don't be surprised if Wellens came a raiding in Jan. The offer of a higher wage at present seems to outweigh the level of football (partly understandable in the current environment).
Personally, I'd always choose opportunity over wage alone. Especially if my wage was at a fairly decent remuneration already. Let's face it, if you're earning £4/5k plus a month in a job you enjoy - you know you're relatively comfortable. Surely most would focus on achieving what they can within their field?! Of course if stepping up a level means more pay, so be it but in Wellens' own words I'd always be 'looking up, not down'.
